Ogust Studio joined forces with our studio to deliver the wayfinding and signage for the Ace Hotel & Swimming Club in Athens. We were tasked with developing the hotel’s wayfinding and adding a new layer of communication to the space—one that reflects the energy of Athens.

Inspired by the informal language of Athenian street signs—handmade, improvised, often beautiful—we created a custom typeface and designed a series of custom constructions: signage and objects shaped by Athenian modernism and the city’s raw, textured materials.

We developed a set of bespoke constructions using materials sourced from the visual and tactile language of Athens—travertine marble, steel, sprayed stencils—paired with softer elements such as embroidered cloth, beaded curtains, and natural textiles, echoing the interiors of Greek summer houses.

The result is a visual system that sits between the local and the international, tradition and modernity, grit and play. A quiet tribute to the streets of Athens, reimagined within the context of a hotel.
